Suzan Zimmerman leads CACI’s business development focus on evaluating, bidding, and capturing large market opportunities, bringing more than 25 years of senior-level experience to CACI’s highly-qualified leadership team. She reports directly to Mr. Ken Asbury, President and CEO. In this capacity, Ms. Zimmerman coordinates across all business groups for optimal focus on winning large, complex contracts resulting in the expansion of our customer support and overall success of our mission.
Prior to joining the CACI team, Ms. Zimmerman served as Senior Vice President for Corporate Development for QinetiQ North America, Inc, where she reported to Mr. Duane Andrews, former ASD of the DoD and CEO of QNA. In that capacity, Suzan was responsible for managing business development for customers within the Departments of Defense, Justice, Treasury, Homeland Security, Agriculture, Transportation, and State. Her strategic business development plan drove the company’s direction on key technology investments and new markets, where she exhibited her expertise in teaming and creating strategic partnerships to capture unique and profitable market opportunities.
Prior to QinetiQ, Ms. Zimmerman held the position of Senior Vice President at Science Applications International Corporation, having been recruited by its Chairman and Founder, Dr. Robert Beyster. Her responsibilities included developing international and domestic business strategies that resulted in the successful capture of numerous billion dollar programs.
Ms. Zimmerman also spent several years as a marketing specialist at IBM where she marketed large systems to the Department of Defense and national accounts including Time Life Books, General Electric’s Space Division, and the District of Columbia government. During that time, Ms. Zimmerman served on the Ada Advisory Board in the Pentagon reporting to Dick Cheney, then Secretary of Defense. Prior to her time with IBM, Ms. Zimmerman worked directly for Dr. Wang as the Public Relations Director at Wang Laboratories.
For the past 22 years, Ms. Zimmerman has been a distinguished member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and has served on its Board of Directors. Additionally, she chaired several committees for the Industrial Advisory Council, United Way, American Heart Association, and the National Conference for Community and Justice. Currently Ms. Zimmerman has been named to the Board of Advisors for the State of Virginia as a member of the Economic Development Committee and also serves on the Board of Directors of the McLean Orchestra.
Ms. Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics Degree from Michigan State University.
