At the end of the Civil War, Lincoln faced tremendous challenges, as did newly freed Black people seeking a way to fend for themselves in their new situation: trying to earn a living, buy or lease property on which to do it, and protect themselves and their families from the brutalities of vengeful former slave owners. Read the brief correspondences identifying these needs and challenges, and write a brief personal response.

Answer 1

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You did not include the brief correspondences to identify these needs and challenges.

However, doing some research, we can comment on the following.

My personal response would be this.

After the Union army won the war, United States President Abraham Lincoln ordered a time of Reconstruction is the South. He was very lax with the former confederate states, that is why Radical republicans did not support him and demanded more severe punishment for the former confederate states due to the damage caused during the war.

Although Lincoln had formally abolished slavery, in the South, it was a different story. White people created legislation such as the Jim Crow laws or the black codes, that restricted the rights of former black slaves.

Blacks who had been working land seized by the Union knew about the idea of returning that land to its previous landlords. So black people asked for help. They needed protection from the US government because the situation was getting worse. African Americans in the south lived under harsh conditions and limited rights, and a major intervention of the federal government was needed.

Explanation:

Answer:

1. Loyalists: colonists of the American revolutionary period who supported, and stayed loyal, to the British monarchy. Patriots: colonists who rebelled against British control during the American Revolution.

2. The Minutemen played a crucial role not only in the Revolutionary War, but in earlier conflicts. ... Militia were men in arms formed to protect their towns from foreign invasion and ravages of war. Minutemen were a small hand-picked elite force which were required to be highly mobile and able to assemble quickly.

3. American colonists in 1770 considered themselves to be loyal Englishmen. Hence they thought they should be treated even handedly, in this case, tea was not taxed in England and they thought it should not be taxed in America. They dumped the tea from 3 ships into the Harbor with a value of about $1 million.

4. No one knows who fired the first shot, but, in "Concord Hymn," Ralph Waldo Emerson described it as "the shot heard round the world" because of the importance the Revolutionary War and the United States would have in world history.

5. While George III did not respond to the Olive Branch Petition, he did react to the petition by declaring his own Proclamation of Rebellion. This document, issued August 23, 1775, declared certain elements of the American colonies in a state of “open and avowed rebellion”.

Which sentence from the passage best supports the conclusion that the author was influenced by Amaterasu?

Answers

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You forgot to include the options of the question. However, we can say the following.

The sentence from the passage that best supports the conclusion that the author was influenced by Amaterasu is "So when she retreated with her laptop to her room and refused to leave, it created a wave of discontent at the school."

We are referring to the Japanese goddess of the Sun and heaven, Amaterasu. Mythology says that one day, Amaterasu had a fight with her brother. She was very angry and she decided to hide inside or a cave in a mountain, leaving the planet in darkness, creating so much chaos and turbulence. She stayed there for a long time. The problem was that her brother Susanoo had ruined many rice fields and this angered Amaterasu.

So when Lara retreated with her laptop to her room and refused to leave, it created a wave of discontent at the school, in similarity to the referred Amaterasu passage.

Why did Americans start to move to Texas in the 1820s?
O A. Mexico offered them land.
O B. The United States had banned slavery.
O C. They were seeking religious freedom.
O D. Mexico allowed them to enslave Native Americans there

Answers

Answer:

I am pretty sure it is either B or C

Explanation:

Migration to Texas occurred during a period of slavery controversy, with many Americans concerned about the extension of slavery. Realistically, the extension of cotton culture into Texas was no more surprising than the creation of a wheat-growing empire in Minnesota and Dakota.

Increasingly, Mexicans were outnumbered in Texas by Americans. The Texas War of Independence in 1836 was preceded for several years with petitions and conventions during which time Texans demanded changes by the Mexican government. Santa Anna’s move against the Texans resulted in Texas independence. Texas quickly began to request annexation by the United States, which after years of controversy occurred; it became a state in December 1845.
