Hi there!
b=3·b=3b
This means:
1=3, 2=6, 3=9, 4=12, 5=15, 6=18, 7=21, 8=24, and 9=27.
Multiply by 3 everytime...
if b is 3, then the expression is is 3·b or 3b.
Final Result: 3b
As, we are given :
Minutes taken to fill Sylvia's bathtub with water = b minutes
Therefore,
Minutes taken to fill 3 bathtubs like Sylvia's bathtub = 3 × b minutes = 3b minutes
Hence, Minutes taken to fill 3 bathtubs like Sylvia's bathtub are 3b minutes.

Given that R= 9x + 8y
Find y when x = 3 and R= 27
Answer:
1/3 or 0.3 (recurring)
Step-by-step explanation:
Let's substitute our numbers into the equation.
27 = 9x + 24 I multipled 8 by 3 in order to get 24, because x equals 3.
Now take away 24 leaving 9x on its own.
3 = 9x
Divide 9 to separate it from x.
3/9 = x
Simplify the fraction.
1/3 = x
Solve the equation.

Answer:
[tex]f(3) =-8[/tex]
Step-by-step explanation:
Given
[tex]f(x) = 2x + 5; x<1[/tex]
[tex]f(x) =-3x + 1; x >1[/tex]
Required
Determine f(3)
f(3) implies that x = 3.
We make use of
[tex]f(x) =-3x + 1[/tex]
Because x >1 (i.e. 3 > 1)
Substitute 3 for x in f(x) =-3x + 1
[tex]f(3) =-3*3 + 1[/tex]
[tex]f(3) =-9 + 1[/tex]
[tex]f(3) =-8[/tex]

Sqr root of 225
Answer:24
Step-by-step explanation:
that's wrong, and I'm here to put the correct answer
take a look at this image, because ac=25 you set dc as x and ad as 25-x, then after that, you can form the equation root of 25^2-(x5-x)^2=root of 30^2-(x)^2 using the pythaeogrem theorem. After that you would get that x=18, then after that you just apply the theorem. 30^2-18^2 root which you would then get 24.

A single card is drawn from a standard 52 card deck.
Work out the probability of choosing the "4 of spades".
Give your answer in its simplest form.
Answer:
1/52
Step-by-step explanation:
We are given that
Total number of cards=52
Number of cards of 4 of spade=1
We have to find the probability of choosing the "4 of spades".
We know that
Probability, P(E)=[tex]\frac{number\;of\;favorable\;cases}{total\;number\;of\;cases}[/tex]
Using the formula
The probability of getting 4 of spade=[tex]\frac{1}{52}[/tex]
Hence, the probability of choosing the "4 of spades"=1/52

If a+b=8, b+c=10 and c+a=12, what is the value of a+b+c?
The puzzle is solved by defining each variable in terms of another variable & a number & then making substitutions. Begin by taking each sum to define one of the variables in terms of the other. (Different combinations are available, but I’ll follow the a,b,c order.)
a+b=8 becomes a=8-b
b+c=10 becomes b=10-c
c+a=12 becomes c=12-a
Now subtract two of the equations that contain the same variable. I’ll pick two that contain an a: c+a =12 & a+b=8. Subtracting the latter from the former eliminates the “a”s, leaving c-b=4. Adding b to both sides to isolate c gives c=b+4. From above we can take b=10-c to substitute for b in c=b+4, giving us c=(10-c) + 4). Simplify the right side to c=14-c, add c to both sides, giving 2c=14, & then divide both sides by 2 to obtain c=7.
Replace the c in b=10-c with 7 to

If A = B and B = C, does A = C?
In mathematics = is assumed to be a transitive relationship. Transitivity means precisely what you stated: A = B and B = C implies A = C.
While it’s possible to use = to represent a non-transitive relationship this would be considered an abuse of notation. A ~ B or R(A, B) would be a better way to express the relation in this case.
Similar assumptions are made about operators like + and *. + is generally assumed to be commutative, whereas * can be used for noncommutative operations like matrix multiplication. E.g. A * B != B * A.
Equality in programming is another story entirely.
In many languages = is the assignment operator and == is the equality operator. Assignment is not transitive - it’s not even a relation. There are cases where the equality operator doesn’t define a transitive relation.

Step-by-step explanation:
Answer:
29 degrees.
Step-by-step explanation:
The total of a triangle is 180 degrees.
If R = 27, that means that P and Q must make up 153 degrees.
The exterior and interior angle of Q will equal 180 degrees, as that is a straight line. Therefore, do 180 - 56 = 124, which is the degree measure of Q.
Lastly, do 153 - 124 to get 29 degrees for P.
