Answer:

I think snakes are misunderstood creatures. A lot of people are afraid of them because they don't know much about them. I think they are amazing animals and are very interesting to learn about. I have read a lot about snakes and have even held a few. I think they are beautiful creatures and I hope that people can learn to appreciate them more.

Although snakes can be very scary creatures, I find them rather interesting. Many people are scared of snake because your told that they can be poisonous and dangerous, but not all snakes are. Some snakes can be really friendly while others tend to not be. And they play a major role in our ecosystem.

Which sentence from "Home on the Range" describes the setting?

Richard walked over, looked down into the cardboard box, and pulled out an old knapsack.
He reached in again and found a metal canteen, a pocket knife, and a tin cup.

Answer:

'He was sitting on a large rock with the knapsack beside him and the harmonica still in his hands.'

Explanation:

A setting is the time and place in which a story is told. None of these sentences have a super clear and vivid description of the setting. The last sentence only had the description of what he was wearing but the third sentence described that 'he is on a large rock, with the knapsack beside him and the harmonica still in his hands' which is as descriptive as we can get from these 4 sentences!

Some, like the tuberculosis ward, were open to the sea, where a gentle New York harbor breeze cleansed their lungs, improving their chances. Other rooms were solitary, forlorn places where the illness itself decided when to leave or stay. Most patients in the hospital or Contagious Disease Ward recovered, but some were not so lucky. More than 120,000 immigrants were sent back to their countries of origin, and during the island's half-century of operation more than 3,500 immigrants died there.

Vandals made off with anything they could carry, from doorknobs to filing cabinets. Snow swirled through broken windows, roofs leaked, weeds sprang up in corridors, and interior walls soaked up harbor moisture like sponges. In 1965, Ellis Island became part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument, overseen by the National Park Service. Nearly thirty years later, in 1990, the Main Building was fully restored and opened as the Immigration Museum.

Why aren't authors always as explicit as possible in stating their meaning or purpose? Why do you think they often leave evidence to be inferred?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Understanding the author's purpose helps readers understand what a text is about. It guides us in taking a stance as readers.

An author's purpose is his reason for or intent in writing. An author's purpose may be to amuse the reader, to persuade the reader, to inform the reader, or to satirize a condition.

Answer: Authors often leave interpretations to the readers. They don't directly mention or state the themes or purposes in their stories so that their audience can interpret the story to how they perceive it. While it isn't stated, they embed the meaning through their storyline and through the characters they create.

Answer:

Option 2- Jayden plays well during tryouts, but a few rough serves make it past her.

Explanation:

First, let's look at what each of the plot elements mean (in order from first to last):

Exposition: In the beginning of the story, exposition introduces the main character, setting, conflict, and themes.

Rising action: The rising action starts right after the period of exposition and ends at the climax.

Climax: Climax is the highest point of tension in a storyline, often depicted by a confrontation between the protagonist and antagonist. (or the main character and the problem/what the main character is stressed about which in our story is the tryouts) A climax resolves the main conflict of the story and is the moment the main character reaches-or fails to reach-their goal.

_____________________________

The first option is saying that Jayden took tennis lessons for three summers before starting high school. That information is actually irrelevent to us because that happens before the exposition.

The second option is saying that Jayden played well in the tryouts but she did miss a few serves. This is relevent to us because this happens after the exposition and before the climax. (This is also our answer.)

The third option states the Jayden begins to smile as she finds her name on the list. This is impossible because this happens after the climax and we do not know if she made the team or not.

The last option states that she texted her mother to let her know that she made the team. This is also impossible like the third option because it occurs after the climax and still don't know if she made the team or not!

This leaves us with option two as our only applicable option!

I think it depends if your readers know Korean. If not, it may be smarter to use romanized characters rather than the symbols. That way they can at least have an idea of how to pronounce those Korean words. Or, you could use the symbols and right the rom version beside it? Usually though, when writing in Korean you’d almost always use the symbols. Do what you prefer!!

Well it really depends on how much Korean you know personally i have watched people who are Korean,  This helped me with some of the words, as they  speak the language and you pay closer attention to what they say how they say it etc. Though it takes longer to catch up on as I can not just make a whole on sentence with that alone, so I would say learn some words then use those into that for a sentence maybe.
