Read the following excerpt from a personal narrative essay. Based on the excerpt, what did the writer learn from her personal experience?

Have you ever been canoeing? I went on a canoeing trip with my mom, dad, and two brothers when I turned 13. It was one of the best days of my life. It was exciting, scary, and challenging all at once. At first I couldn’t believe those long, narrow pieces of wood could hold all five of us. But our instructor told us that canoes have been around for many years. He also told us some interesting facts about the history of canoe, like how American Indians used canoes as a way to travel quickly.

He patted the wood of the canoe we would be using. “It’s made of an old tree trunk,” he said.

I asked the question that had been bothering me ever since I saw our canoe. “Can it really hold all of us?” I pointed to my brothers and me. “It looks like the bottom could fall right off.”

The instructor laughed. “Oh, you’ll be surprised how strong this wood is. If our customers were always drowning, we’d have a 'sinking' business on our hands.”

He laughed some more at his own joke. Then he became serious and showed us how to keep our balance while getting into and out of the boat. He also showed me how to grip the paddle so that my left hand would guide the boat and my right hand would give the paddle power.

A.
Canoeing is dangerous, and only people who are experts can do it.
B.
Even events that seem a little scary can turn out to be great.
C.
The best age to go on a canoeing trip is 13.
D.
Canoeing can cause injury if you’re new to the sport.

There are several little rehearsals of actions before the major performances, such as Polonius spying on Hamlet and Ophelia as a prelude to the later scene in Gertrude’s room, and Hamlet rehearsing the players for their evening performance as prelude to the court performance. Can Hamlet’s impulse to kill Claudius as he prays be seen as a prelude to his killing Polonius? In each prelude, the concerns of the characters, and the language in which they express these concerns, prevent serious consequences. Explain how the circumstances in the major performances act upon the characters to produce violently different language and dire results.

It is not only the impossible work which is laid upon Hamlet, nor his capability to execute the entrusted duty, nor his flaw in his character which accounts for his failure but also external difficulties to a certain extent account for it. He kills Polonius inadvertently and gives a chance to Claudius, his antagonist to conceive plans against him.

What is an organizational structure?

Only the first step in creating a high-performing organization is hiring competent personnel. You must ensure that each team member blends in. A distinct organizational structure is required.

To manage a big number of personnel and prevent chaos, major businesses need a well-established, structured framework. However, startups and smaller companies almost never consider creating an organizational structure in the first place.

This lack of organization causes communication breakdowns, work delays, inefficient process flows, low morale, and other grave repercussions that impede corporate expansion. In contrast, a solid organizational structure promotes productivity by facilitating cooperation, minimizing disagreements, and minimizing inefficiencies.

The foundation of each company's operational processes and workflows is its organizational structure. It establishes each employee's position and function inside the company and is crucial for organizational development.

do words like "bulldozing*
"burned" suggest about how
Della saved money, and how
she feels about it?

Please help!!

Answers

Words like "bulldozing" and "burned" suggest the following about how Della saved money and how she feels about it:

- When the narrator says Della saved money by "bulldozing" the grocer, he means that she had to insist, almost force him, to reduce prices so that she would not spend all her money.

- When he says her cheeks "burned" with imputation, he means that she feels embarrassed for having to do such a thing. Such an insistence shows how poor she is, and that makes her feel self-conscious.

Della is the main character in the short story "The Gift of the Magi," by O. Henry. She and her husband Jim are a poor couple, but they love each other greatly. The passage we are analyzing here shows that Della tried her best to save money. She had to be very insistent with the grocer to be able to save that one dollar and eighty-seven cents. She feels embarrassed by it, knowing that when she insists for prices to be reduced she is revealing her own need to be "cheap" due to lack of money. That is what the words "bulldozing" and "burned" mean in the context. "Bulldozing" refers to her forcing the grocer to comply to her means, and "burned" refers to her feeling of embarrassment.
