Answer 1
In the 1950s segregation laws in many states prohibited African American children and white children from attending the same schools. Linda Brown, an African American girl, could not attend a less-crowded white school a few blocks from her home in Topeka, Kan. Instead, she had to ride a bus across town to attend an African American school. In 1951, Linda Brown’s father and several parents from her school filed suit against the Board of Education of the City of Topeka, Kansas in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. He argued that separate schools were unconstitutional because they violated equal protection guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment. The district court ruled in favor of the Board of Education citing the “separate but equal” precedent established by the 1896 Supreme Court case Plessy v. Ferguson. The Brown case, along with four other similar segregation cases, was appealed to the United States Supreme Court. Thurgood Marshall, an NAACP attorney, argued the case before the Court.

Decision:

The Supreme Court first heard arguments for the case in December 1952. Because of its controversial nature and anticipated resistance from southern states, no decision was reached. During the Court’s recess, Chief Justice Vinson died and Chief Justice Warren was appointed. In December 1953, the Court heard the case again and on May 17, 1954, unanimously ruled segregation unconstitutional. The Court said “separate is not equal,” and segregation violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

The ruling in Miranda v Arizona most affected the procedure in the step of:

The police informing people of their rights when they are arrested

According to the Miranda vs Arizona ruling in the United States, you can see that the police did not inform the suspects of their rights and they went ahead and confessed for their crimes.

However, when this was used as evidence in their prosecution, their defense counsel made a compelling argument that it was inadmissible because their client was not informed of his rights or that what he said could be used against him in a court of law.

As a result of this, we can see that this changed the way the police informed people of their rights when arresting them.

1. Why would some Southerners support a pro-slavery government if they did not believe in slavery? *
3 points
A. They thought slavery should be decided by the state government
B. They preferred to mind their own business
C. They did not like outsiders telling them what to do
D. They did not care what others did

Answers

Answer:

A.

Explanation:

In reality, I bet all the answers are at least partly correct.

But the reason (or excuse) that people often gave was that the voters (no black people of course!) of each state should decide if they wanted to allow slavery.

They called it 'Popular Sovereignty' and it was a twisted argument that we could use a democratic process (voting) to decide that a certain class of people would get no democracy at all, or even be recognized as having ANY rights, like the right to not be owned and murdered.

You decide the best way to build credit is to apply for credit cards at every store at the mall. Does this help or hurt your credit? Why or why not?

Answers

Answer:

This will hurt your credit! Sometimes, too many credit inquiries on a credit report look bad. It may appear that you're gonna be getting many credit cards at one time and may not be able to have sufficient income to cover the payments for all of them

Explanation:

Applying for multiple credit cards at every store in the mall is not an advisable strategy to build credit and can potentially hurt your credit.

When you apply for a credit card, the credit card issuer will likely perform a hard inquiry on your credit report.

Multiple hard inquiries within a short period can have a negative impact on your credit score.

It can indicate to lenders that you are actively seeking credit and maybe a higher-risk borrower.

Opening multiple credit card accounts simultaneously can lead to increased overall credit limits. A positive credit history is built over time. When opening multiple credit card accounts at once,  lower the average age of your credit accounts.  Opening numerous credit cards without a solid plan to manage them can increase the risk of missing payments or accumulating excessive debt.

Thus, it is not a good idea to apply for several credit cards at each business in the mall since this might potentially damage your credit.

How did fighting the

Constitution?

Answers

Answer:

The Anti-Federalists opposed the ratification of the 1787 U.S. Constitution because they feared that the new national government would be too powerful and thus threaten individual liberties, given the absence of a bill of rights.

Though Antifederalists argued that a strong national government would be similar to being under English rule, federalist concern stemmed from the failing economy under the Articles of Confederation.

Fighting in the revolutionary war made the antifederalists to feel that the new country was going to be similar to the same treatment that they received from Great Britain.

Who were the Anti-federalists?

These were a group of Americans that were opposed to a strong national government. The anti-federalists feared that the USA in the hands of a president may lead to a dictatorship.

They feared a situation where the people would be taken back to the ill treatments that they received from the British.

Instead they proposed a government that was controlled by the states.

Can someone help me with this I don’t understand it due today it about Amanda Gorman

Answers

Answer: “The Hill We Climb” is the title of the poem by Amanda Gorman, a young African-American poet, who accompanied Joe Biden on the day of his inauguration, conquering the whole world.

1) 2020 was a particular year for the whole world and in the United States it highlighted several positive and negative aspects. Political corruption, the inefficiency of the health system, the racial hatred that still persists, the violence and senselessness that human beings can carry on. But it also highlighted the wonderful goals that humans can achieve with small daily gestures and solidarity, showing in practice the great goals that can be achieved by collaborating together. And it is precisely these positive aspects that Amanda Goram speaks about: a new beginning for America can only exist if we are the ones to free it from all negative aspects and this can only happen through reconciliation and collaboration between all of us.

2) Light has always had a symbolic meaning: in philosophy, it is understood as what allows us to see, to distinguish and therefore to reveal the things and objects that surround us. But here the poet wants to give it another meaning: that of life, joy, and hope. Light is a fundamental element for human beings; the sun gives light and gives life, and this is precisely its symbolic meaning: life, which can be understood literally, as a flower that needs light to live, but also in a metaphorical sense, as hope, as a goal to aim for.

3) "If only we're good enough to be it." These are the exciting and meaningful closing words of the poem. With these the poet wants to inspire us, saying that there will always be hope, as long as we are brave enough to be ourselves to keep the light of hope burning and to carry out this change.
