How has Ebeneezer Scrooge changed through act I and act II?

Answers

Answer:

Ebeneezer Scrooge in act 1 is very selfish and rude. He is seen as an anger filled brute who doesn't feel empathy towards others. This is shown in the way he treats the citizens in town, and his workers. In act 2 he has seen the ghosts and understands why his ignorance is a problem. He decides to be generous and help others for a change. He donates money and even allows his workers to have the holiday they deserve.

Now, Tabaqui knew as well as any one else that there is nothing so unlucky as to compliment children to their faces; and it pleased him to see Mother and Father Wolf look uncomfortable.

Tabaqui sat still, rejoicing in the mischief that he had made, and then he said spitefully:

"Shere Khan, the Big One, has shifted his hunting-grounds. He will hunt among these hills during the next moon, so he has told me."

How does the shift to Tabaqui’s point of view affect his characterization?

Need this asap ill mark brainliest A group of parents are working to ban all forms of junk food from the school cafeteria. Your parents are thinking about joining the fight, but they would like to know more about your opinion. Write a short letter to your parents to explain your side of the argument. Then, write a short letter to a friend and a letter to your principal to let them know what you think about the issue.

Answers

To the parents - Dear ——- as you know —— school is thinking about banning junk foods. Although there’s lots of pros there’s also lots of cons. I Believe that students should have the choice.
Parents are the on that have to pay for the meals. So why not give people what they want. If someone is paying you money for something you should give them the service or product that THEY want.
Getting to have the choice is also good for kids. It helps them be more responsible and make better choices. People should be given the choice.
This could also reflect badly on the school. There’s a possibility that students wouldn’t like the healthy options and they may not eat. It’s been tested by many scientists that missing meals slow down your brain function and people’s grades could drop. So is taking away the students choices to choose there own food really a good idea.

Letter to friend:

Hey Sam,

Can you believe that the parents are trying to ban junk food at school? It’s like they don’t trust us to make our decisions about what we eat. Everyone we know seems to eat pretty healthy anyway without the ban. I hope it doesn’t work out, or we’re going to have to just sneak snacks into the school. LOL!!!!! J

Charlotte

Letter to principal:

Dear Mr. Tarbell,

I understand the reason for banning all forms of junk food from the school cafeteria. Parents want to help their children make wise choices. But I don’t think banning junk food will allow us, their children, to make our own choices. Parents and teachers can discuss healthy choices with us, and we can make our own choices. I work to eat a healthy, balanced diet, but I know that I like to eat a candy bar or bag of chips every once in a while. Please consider keeping some forms of junk food so we can learn to choose for ourselves and enjoy something sweet when we want it.

Thank you,

Charlotte

In the story Little Women, one family brings breakfast to a cold and hungry family on Christmas morning. Read this passage and then answer the question that follows:

My girls, will you give them your breakfast as a Christmas present?"

They were all unusually hungry, having waited nearly an hour, and for a minute no one spoke, only a minute, for Jo exclaimed impetuously, "I'm so glad you came before we began!"

"May I go and help carry the things to the poor little children?" asked Beth eagerly.

"I shall take the cream and the muffins," added Amy, heroically giving up the article she most liked.

Meg was already covering the buckwheats, and piling the bread into one big plate.

"I thought you'd do it," said Mrs. March, smiling as if satisfied.

What can you infer about Mrs. March from this text?

She pretended her girls could choose whether to help.
She assumed her girls had already eaten breakfast.

What is Prepositional phrase?

Prepositional phrases are collections of words with prepositions in them. Prepositions are words that show the relationships between different parts of a sentence.

If you keep this in mind, you'll never have trouble recognizing prepositional phrases. A prepositional phrase is a collection of words that serves as a single unit of speech but lacks either a verb or a subject.

A preposition and a noun or a preposition and a pronoun are typically used in it. Prepositional expressions don't need to be simple.

Prepositional phrases can be spiced up by adding more words, such as adverbs or adjectives, in the same way that adding more ingredients to a sandwich dresses it up. A prepositional phrase is a sentence fragment made up of a single preposition and the subject it modifies.

A. After we walked to town we bought an ice cream.
B. Jude won the game after asking his friend to play.
C. Ryan cannot walk to school, until he is older.
D. When we find the remote we can watch television.

Answers

Answer:  c

Explanation:

The answer would be C.
this is because a complex sentence includes an independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.
The independent clause in the sentence is “Ryan cannot walk to school” because it can stand by itself and still be a sentence
then the dependent clause is “until he is older” because it cannot stand alone

What is the difference between congruence and similarity? Compare these two examples as part of your answer. (Use the measurements shown in the diagrams to write a well-developed answer; I'm looking for a paragraph of 3-5 sentences.)

Answers

What is the difference between congruent and similarities

Congruent shapes have identical measurements and coincide with each other when superimposed. Two congruent objects are the same size and shape, but their orientation or placing in a space can be different.  This does not change the fact that they are the same because they possess the same physical properties, the same angles as well as the same measurements.

Similarity means closely resembling each other but not quite the same.  Mathematically a shape can be similar in its basic shape, a circle for example, but different in size.  The difference in size aspect means that a similar shape can never be congruent.

What is Congruent?

The word congruent comes from the Latin word ‘congruo’ which means ‘I agree’.  When two objects are congruent they can be matched or mapped exactly to each other.  They are the same size and have the same shape.  They fit into the ‘s.s.s theorem’ of side/side/side/ all three sides are the same and all three of the angles are the same. They can be superimposed on one another but can be set differently in terms of their orientation on a plane or in a 3D space.

In a 3D space they may have different special co-ordinates and be orientated differently round their XYZ axes.  However, they are still congruent because all their sides are equal.  All their angles are equal, and their shape is the same.   The art of mapping two congruent shapes is based on the translation, rotation and reflection of the shape and the shape should be able to move through different angles or turn over to be mapped exactly.

Congruent objects are exact in measurement and shape and size.  At first glance to the uninformed the two compared shapes may appear to be different because of the way they have been placed.  However, when they are mapped or rotated they are exact replicas of each other and therefore will be congruent.

What is Similarity?

The word similarity comes from the Latin ‘similis’ which means like, resembling or similar.  Similarity in the mathematical world requires two objects to have the same shape but not necessarily the same size.

Two different circles for instance are both circles and therefore similar but their size makes them different.  They can be compared as similar shapes, but not mapped to one another. Two objects that are similar will have the same shape but the one could be a scaled up or a scaled down version of the other.  The orientation of the shape could be different, but they will remain similar.  Mathematically objects are similar if they have the same shape but not necessarily the same size.

Similarities are found in instances where comparing two objects could be very closely compared, for instance Siamese twins would be very similar and definitely appear to be identical.  Similarities will be corresponding in their meaning like synonyms as they have a similar aspects and purpose. Synonyms are useful words that contribute to the diversity of our language and descriptions of people places and things.  Similarities can relate to nature and have a natural connection in their surroundings. Leaves on the same tree for example would be similar but could be different colors in autumn.  Objects that are akin to one another are similar in quantity and character. Groups of objects or classes of animals can be similar.  Cats for example are all cats, but their breed and color and habitat would make them similar in different ways, but not the same and never congruent.

When two line segments have the same length, they are congruent. When two figures have the same shape and size, they are congruent. These two triangles are congruent. ... Similar means that the figures have the same shape, but not the same size.

Due friday 9AM:When howling winds whip up in Earth’s largest deserts, it’s time to head for cover. Billowing gusts kick up sand, forming walls of fast-moving dust that can block the sun. “You can’t see anything that’s more than a few meters away,” says Joseph Prospero, an atmospheric chemist at Florida’s University of Miami, who studies dust storms. Grains of sand pelt against your skin like thousands of piercing needles, and musty-smelling grit coats your mouth and nostrils. “The amount of dust that gets in the air feels suffocating,” says Prospero. For people who live in and around the deserts along Earth’s midsection—such as Central Asia’s Gobi Desert and Africa’s Sahara Desert—dust storms frequently disrupt daily routines. “When a storm kicks up, you just have to go inside and wait it out,” says Prospero. But scientists have discovered that the effects of dust storms extend much farther than the deserts’ sandy borders. Global winds lift dust from Asia and Africa and carry it to other continents thousands of miles away, including North America. Now, many scientists are concerned that the grimy visitor may be putting people and other organisms in danger. Hoping to learn more about the storms’ potential health risks, researchers are following the dust trails. WORLD TOUR During the Asian dust storm season—from March through May—winds frequently blow dust clouds eastward across the Pacific Ocean. In just a week, the dust can complete a journey from Asia, over the Pacific, and across the entire United States. As Asia’s storms settle, windstorms begin kicking up dust in Africa’s deserts. Between May and October, African dust drifts westward across the Atlantic Ocean, making its way toward the southeastern coast of the U.S. and islands in the Caribbean Sea. FOUL CLOUDS The billows of traveling dust disrupt air quality—creating hazy skies along their routes. Eventually, the winds slow and can no longer keep the sandy particles airborne. The dust drops from the sky, depositing a gritty film on every exposed surface. Studies have shown that this falling desert dust is actually an important nutrient for plants. “Researchers think that rain forests in the northern Hawaiian Islands are nurtured by Asian dust events,” says Dale Griffin, a microbiologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. 5 10 15

Read the poem A Good Play:

We built a ship upon the stairs
All made of the back-bedroom chairs
And filled it full of sofa pillows
To go a-sailing on the billows.

We took a saw and several nails,
And water in the nursery pails;
And Tom said, "Let us also take
An apple and a slice of cake";—
Which was enough for Tom and me
To go a-sailing on, till tea.

We sailed along for days and days,
And had the very best of plays;
But Tom fell out and hurt his knee,
So there was no one left but me.

How does the speaker's point of view influence the events in the poem?

A. The speaker reveals that Tom is imaginary and disappears when the game is over.
B. The speaker reveals that Tom wants to continue playing while the speaker wants to stop.
C. The speaker creates an imaginary adventure but knows when it's time for it to end.
D. The speaker shows that he or she cares only about playing and never wants the game to end.

It is either c or a because (A)talks about Tom being imaginary which we can infer, and disappears when it is over this makes sense. (C) talks about the fact that they went on an imaginary adventure which we can also infer he knows when it is time to end when he makes the adventure stop with Tom getting out of the boat I think (A) makes the most sense tho.

According to the initial two paragraphs of the article, what can readers infer about our bathrooms?
1st Subsection: ‘Friend or Foe?’

Why did the author include this section in the article?

Answers

Answer/Explanation:

According to the initial two paragraphs of the article, what can readers infer about our bathrooms?

According to the initial two paragraphs of the article I can infer that our bathrooms is full of germ and really bad for us. For instance in paragraphs one it says “ They’re all illness-inducing germs”. This make me think that germs can make us sick and it might cause different illness in many ways.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why did the author include this section in the article?
The Author include this section in the article because the author is telling us if germ are our friend or enemy. According to my background Knowledge Foe means enemy. Base on the sections in the article Germ can be our friend and be our enemy. In the paragraphs it says It can cause humans to become ill. The Author also states Once pathogenic bacteria enters your body, it can cause illness in a number of ways.This explains that Germ can Harm us which can make us sick. But Author also states that Most bacteria are harmless, and some are even beneficial to the humans body. For Instance, Bifidobacterium Longum live in human intestines and actually prohibit colonization by pathogenic, or harmful, bacteria. That tells us that germ can be our Friend or Enemy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2nd Subsection: ‘What you can’t see might hurt you.’

What are the most logical inferences readers can draw from this section of the text?

The most logical inferences I can draw from the section of the text “What you can’t see might hurt you is germ is very small the only time we can see is under a microscopic.Just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it might not harm you. Based on what I read it tells us number of different Places. Before reading the section we might infer that the toilet are the most dirty but after reading the section I know that the toilet ain’t the most dirtiest the faucet/tap are the most dirtiest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Objective Summary
Write an objective summary of the text.
You need to identify the most important ideas of the text. Be sure not to include your opinion.
Bathroom is secretly harboring a village of germ that we know noting about. Germ are the cause humans to become ill. Common germs will find living in the bathroom are bacteria & viruses. Bacteria enters body it can cause illness in a number of ways. Viruses are another type of germ that can make humans sick. Made of small piece of genetic material surrounded by a small protein capsule. It important to know that every nefarious virus or bacteria that you come into contact with won’t make you sick. Our body immune system is constantly working to fend off predator so only tiny  fraction of germs tat you encounter lead to any symptoms at all. What you can’t see might hurt you.
