उ. इस एकांकी के माध्यम से लेखक विष्णु प्रभाकर समाज की कुरीतियों और माँ की ममता का एक उदाहरण देते हैं जिसमें समाज की कुरीतियों के चलते माँ अपने बड़े बेटे से बिछड़ जाती है परंतु माँ की ममता से बढ़कर भला क्या होता है, अंततः वह अपने बेटे से मिलने को आतुर हो जाती है।

Like manna
The final image is biblical, that of manna, the ‘food from heaven' given by God to feed the Israelites, as recorded in Exodus 16:14-15.
