3. What did Cameron find at Matt's House that might be a cause of Matt's symptoms in house season 1

Answers

Answer:Poison is a 1st season episode of House which first aired on January 25, 2005.

A high school student gets nausea, abdominal pain, and dizziness and then collapses during a calculus exam. The patient is taken to Princeton-Plainsboro. Eric Foreman convinces Gregory House to take the case by saying he has ruled out all the obvious diagnoses. The team starts a differential based on the patient's negative tox screen. Robert Chase talks to the patient, but his mother is there interfering with the questioning - she denies her son takes d. She admits that she has tested his hair for dr0igs. She denies he has ever had a similar problem. At that moment, the patient has a seizure.Allison Cameron and Foreman search the patient's home for d. Foreman thinks House is doing it because House thinks everyone is an addict. However, they do find spoiled tomato sauce. They report back to House, who brushes off the diagnosis of botulism because of the seizure. House thinks it is organophosphate poisoning. They treat the patient for the poisoning, but he doesn't improve. The patient's mother is getting more and more frustrated. Foreman suggests a targeted approach and House agrees. Foreman also suggests trying to find the source of the poison. Chase performs a procedure to directly stimulate the patient's heart rate.Cameron goes back to the patient's home looking for pesticides. She finds an empty can of disulfoton, an insecticide, but the mother says it was empty and contained orange peel oil, but Chase insists they are right. The mother refuses treatment.House thinks they should get a court order, but Lisa Cuddy realizes they will never get it because the only symptom is that the mother disagrees with House. She suggests House get a waiver from the mother saying she's refusing treatment. House confronts the mother with the waiver in a manner that forces her to reconsider, and she agrees to treatment. However, before they can start, a second patient with the same symptoms appears in the emergency room. The new patient lives 10 miles from the first patient and they don't know each other. The second patient's mother and father say there are no pesticides in their home. The first patient's mother wants Chase off the case because he said he used d in high school. The team starts working on commonalities between the two patients. He finds out that they take the same bus to school.Cameron and Chase go to the bus to search it. Meanwhile, the first patient's mother has lost confidence in House for trying to give her son the wrong medicine. When Foreman defends him, she turns on him too. The bus driver says that he did see a pesticide spraying truck on the route. The first patient's mother gets in touch with the CDC and won't let the team treat her son until they get back to her. Cameron tries to talk to the mother, but she won't listen. Cameron confronts her, and the mother agrees to treatment. They start treating both patients, but neither improves.Instead, they both start having seizures. While Matt starts seizing, Margo calls for help. Seconds later, Ling begins seizing too. Chase and Cameron try to stabilize Matt while Foreman looks after Ling. They manage to stabilize both patients. The patients's hearts, lungs and livers are all in distress. They figure due to the heart problems, they absorbed the poisons through the skin before they got on the bus. They concentrate on what they did first thing in the morning. They go to both patient's houses for anything they could both have used. Cameron and Foreman find they use the same laundry detergent. However, the second patient's parents deny that their child ever did the laundry, and that the clothes he was wearing were brand new. House goes to look at the first patient's clothes - they look old, but they are in fact new (the label isn't faded). House orders them tested. They find phosmet. The second patient's parents agree to treatment, but the mother of the first patient won't.House goes to see the mother, and waits until she agrees. She still wants to wait for the CDC, but House says there is no time. She gets a call from the CDC, and they say they can't give her an opinion until the following week. She agrees to the treatment. However, the phone call was placed by Chase, who was putting on a Southern accen

Both patients improve and regain consciousness. The mother learns about the deception, but doesn't mind - she tells her son they're the arrogant ppl who saved his life. They trace the poison to stolen clothes that were stored in a truck that held the pesticide.

Cupid and psyche provide at least two examples of dialogue in story that supports type of conflict you have identified

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

The main conflict was Psyche trying to get her husband Cupid back (whose trust she betrayed), but is stopped by Venus ... Provide at least two examples of dialoguein your novel or short story that support the type of conflict you have identified.

Answer:

The main conflict was between Venus and Psyche, as Psyche attempted to prove her love to Cupid by completing a series of impossible tasks. The conflict sprouted from Venus’ jealousy from Psyche’s beauty, which men praised more than hers. The conflict was resolved by Venus forgiving Psyche, and allowing her to stay with Cupid. “This homage to the exaltation of a mortal gave great offense to the real Venus. Shaking her ambrosial locks with indignation, she exclaimed “... But she shall not so quietly usurp my honors. I will give her cause to repent of so unlawful a beauty.""

Type of Conflict:

Man vs. Man

“She points out Psyche to him and says, ‘My dear son, punish that contumacious beauty; give your mother a revenge as sweet as her injuries are great; infuse into the bosom of that haughty girl a passion for some low, mean, unworthy being, so that she may reap a mortification as great as her present exultation and triumph.’”

“Venus received her with angry countenance. ‘Most undutiful and faithless of servants,’ said she, ‘do you at last remember that you really have a mistress? Or have you rather come to see your sick husband, yet laid up of the wound given him by his loving wife? You are so ill favored and disagreeable that the only way you can merit your lover must be by dint of industry and diligence. I will make trial of your housewifery."’”

Each example of dialogue supports the conflict of Venus’ jealousy and her attempt to make Psyche pay for the praise she received for her famed beauty. The first line of dialogue describes Venus when she summons her son, Cupid, to punish her by making Psyche fall in love with a lowly creature, while the second line of dialogue shows Venus’ anger towards Psyche by making her complete a series of tasks in servitude to Venus, to prove Psyche’s love for Cupid.

Two examples of rising action events include when Venus sent Cupid to curse Psyche, and when Psyche’s sisters visited, filling Psyche’s mind with suspicions about her husband.

This question is incomplete. I looked it up online and found the complete question. It is the following:

Read the excerpt from "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street":

49. CLOSE SHOT - SPOT LIGHT ON PORCH 49.

As it suddenly goes out. There's a murmur from the group. 50. GROUP SHOT 50. As the people react.

GOODMAN: Now I suppose that's supposed to incriminate me! The light goes on and off. That really does it, doesn't it? (he looks around the faces of the people.) I just don't understand this— (he wets his lips, looking from face to face.) Look, you all know me. We've lived here five years. Right in this house. We're no different than any of the rest of you. We're no different at all. Really... this whole thing is just... just weird -

The writer of this excerpt uses:

A. direct characterization to show that Les Goodman is an alien in disguise

B. direct characterization to show that Les Goodman is nervous

C. indirect characterization to show that Les Goodman is an alien in disguise

D. indirect characterization to show that Les Goodman is nervous

Answer:

The author of this excerpt uses:

D. indirect characterization to show that Les Goodman is nervous

Explanation:

"The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" was an episode of the first season of the famous series "The Twilight Zone", written by Rod Serling.

In the excerpt we are analyzing here, the author is using indirect characterization. That means he is showing something through the character's words, gestures, actions, instead of saying it directly. Notice that at no point does the author say, "Goodman is nervous." However, he uses stage directions concerning how the actor is supposed to behave:

(he looks around the faces of the people.)

(he wets his lips, looking from face to face.)

Goodman is indeed nervous. So nervous that his mouth gets dry, so he needs to wet his lips. So nervous that he keeps looking from face to face, worried that his neighbors are actually considering the idea that he might be an alien. Therefore, the best option for our answer is D.

In which sentence is a semicolon used correctly?
Select one:

a.They met at the restaurant before prom; they didn’t want to be hungry at the dance.
b.The documentary about Einstein was informative; I plan to ride my bike on Tuesday.
c.Because the football game would be crowded; we left an hour early for the stadium.
d.The music played soulfully through the building; and the employees danced.

Answers

A.
I think it’s A because semicolons are used for like two sentences that are a bit related, but they aren’t completely related. For C and D, you would use commas instead of the semicolons. For B, the two pieces are completely unrelated and should be separated by periods. A connects two sentences together that can be seperate and still work, but together they are related. Hope this helps.

The sentence that uses a semicolon correctly is "They met at the restaurant before prom; they didn’t want to be hungry at the dance." The correct option is A.

What is a semicolon?

A semicolon is a punctuation mark (;) used to separate two independent clauses that are closely related in meaning, or to separate items in a list when those items contain commas. An independent clause is a group of words that can stand alone as a complete sentence because it expresses a complete thought and contains a subject and a verb.

The use of a semicolon indicates a stronger connection between the two independent clauses than a period would, but a weaker connection than a conjunction like "and" or "but." In other words, a semicolon is used to link two independent clauses that are closely related in meaning and could stand alone as separate sentences, but that the writer wants to emphasize are closely connected.

For example, a semicolon could be used to connect the independent clauses "I have a lot of work to do" and "I can't go out tonight" to create the sentence "I have a lot of work to do; I can't go out tonight."

Semicolons can also be used to separate items in a list when those items contain commas, as in "I visited Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; and Rome, Italy on my trip to Europe."

So, semicolons are a useful tool for writers who want to create more complex sentences and emphasize the relationships between ideas in their writing.

Here in the Question,

Option b is incorrect because the two clauses, "The documentary about Einstein was informative" and "I plan to ride my bike on Tuesday," are not closely enough related to require a semicolon. Instead, a period or a conjunction like "and" would be more appropriate.

Option c is incorrect because the second clause, "we left an hour early for the stadium," is dependent on the first clause, "Because the football game would be crowded." Therefore, a semicolon is not appropriate here.

Option d is incorrect because the conjunction "and" is used to connect two independent clauses, so a semicolon is not necessary. Additionally, the word "and" implies that the two clauses are equally important, but the second clause, "the employees danced," seems to be a less significant detail.

In Option a, the semicolon is used to separate two independent clauses that are closely related in meaning. The first clause, "They met at the restaurant before prom," and the second clause, "they didn’t want to be hungry at the dance," could each stand alone as separate sentences, but the semicolon indicates that they are closely connected in meaning and should be read together.

Therefore, The sentence that uses a semicolon correctly is option a: "They met at the restaurant before prom; they didn’t want to be hungry at the dance."

Can someone tell me What does Deuteronomy Chapter 1 talk about / summary
HELP

Answers

Answer:

The first chapter of Deuteronomy talks of the people's rebellious ways, the election of leaders to help Moses judge and solve cases, the spying of the lands they are to possess, and the anger of God against them, resulting in the declaration that none of the present generations of the Israelites will live to see the land they are to inhabit except Caleb.

Explanation:

The Book of Deuteronomy chapter 1 begins with Moses relaying the message from God ordering the Israelites to leave Horeb. Then, he also helped elect leaders from among the twelve tribes, just as the people demanded and in accordance with God's will. These judges will help in solving cases that the people may have, and also to reduce the workload of Moses alone.

After that, twelve spies were sent to inspect the land that was before them till the Valley of Eshkol. These spies came back with fruits from the land they had inspected. But the Israelites continued to rebel against the Lord and Moses, which angered the Lord. So, He declared that none of the people will live to see the land that God is giving them except "Caleb son of Jephunneh". Even Moses will not see the land nor will he enter it. This led to the Israelites staying longer at Kadesh.

Refer to it as needed.Yellowstone National ParkAbout the ParkYellowstone National Park is located in the states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Yellowstone was the first national park in the United States and is considered to be one of the first national parks in the world. The park contains several hydrothermal wonders, which are natural vents on the earth's surface that emit heat. Some examples of these vents include hot springs. Lakes, canyons, rivers, and mountain ranges cover more than 3,000 square miles, or five percent of the entire park. Yellowstone's wetlands provide a vital habitat for numerous insects, birds, fish, rare plants, and thermal species such as reptiles and amphibians. Visitors from all over the world flock year-round to the park to experience wildlife, hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, rock climbing, and camping. There are several designated areas throughout the 2 million acres of park where people can stay. Visitors who are as hungry as bears can dine at one of the park's many restaurants.ClimateThe climate of Yellowstone is largely influenced by its elevation. Precipitation levels change frequently and can range from little rain to downpours depending on location. The climate of the park has been gradually becoming warmer over the last 50 years. This has led to the of melting of the blanket of snow that covers the mountains, which, in turn, affects water levels, vegetation growth, and the habits of wildlife. Many species depend on deep snow to breed, raise their young, and hunt successfully. The snow provides protection and camouflage for prey and also cover for predators.Animal SurvivalYellowstone has the largest public herd of American bison in the United States. It wasn't always this way, however. While bison once roamed wild through most of North America in great numbers, an intense hunting campaign in the 1880s led to a dramatic decrease in population. By the late 1880s, only about two dozen bison were left in Yellowstone Park. In 1902, the park's management set about trying to help the bison population bounce back. By 1954, the herd had grown to over 1,000 animals. Park staff have worked hard in order to successfully bring these bison back from the brink of extinction. The bison that now live in the park feed primarily on grasses and plants in the open grasslands and meadows. They typically forage for 9 to 11 hours daily, and as a result, overgrazing is a continuous concern. Consequently, access to water is also very important to the bison herd that roams the park.Wildlife: What to DoOnce in a blue moon, you may encounter a wild animal in Yellowstone Park. Don't let curiosity kill the cat. Rule number one is to never approach the wildlife in the park. If you happen to encounter an animal on your adventures, there are a few important things to remember. These animals consider the park their home and may have babies nearby. You may seem like an intruder, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Bison have injured more people in Yellowstone than any other animal. They are unpredictable and can run three times faster than humans. Other common animals in the park are bears. If you encounter a bear, remain calm, and try to appear nonthreatening. First, do not make direct eye contact with the bear. Next, speak to it in a calm voice so that it knows you are human. Then, leave the grounds calmly and slowly, never turning your back to the bear. Finally, if you have bear spray, remove the safety lock, and keep it on hand in case of an emergency. Ultimately, the safest way to view wildlife is from the inside of a vehicle.Water and GeysersWater plays an incredible role in the ecosystems found in Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding areas. The water that flows through the park is a vital national resource. Precipitation in the mountains flows through networks of streams and rivers to provide important moisture and habitats to plants and wildlife. The park is home to the largest concentration of mammals in the lower 48 states, including more than 150 species of birds and six species of reptiles, all of whom rely on the fresh water.Water drives the complex geothermal activity that occurs within the park. It fuels the largest collection of geysers on Earth. Precipitation and groundwater seep down into geothermal systems which is heated by the Yellowstone Volcano. This precipitation is heated and then rises to the surface in the form of hot springs and geysers. The most famous geyser in the park, Old Faithful, was the first to receive a name. What is moral muteness? Why do you think an advertising professional might experience this phenomenon?
