In his laboratory, Jin is studying the genetics of mice. For a particular trait, an adult female mouse has the alleles AA, and an adult male mouse has the alleles Aa. Which of these questions could Jin answer by using a Punnett square

Answers

Hello. You forgot to introduce the answer options. The options are:

Do these two adult mice have any other alleles in common?

Is this gene associated with an inherited trait or an acquired trait?

Are AA and Aa the only alleles present in these two adult mice?

What possible combinations of alleles could the offspring of these adults inherit?

Answer:

What possible combinations of alleles could the offspring of these adults inherit?

Explanation:

The Punnett square is a diagram where a table is established and the alleles of the progenitors of an offspring are positioned in different places on that table, allowing combinations between the alleles of the parents to form the offspring to be seen. In other words, the Punnet square allows the separation of the parents' gametes to discover the genotypes of their descendants.

For this reason, the student could use this diagram to answer the question:

"What possible combinations of alleles could the offspring of these adults inherit? "

The Final Battle - Yorktown 1781
In 1773, the colonists dumped British tea into Boston Harbor. From that time on, the fight between the British and
colonists grew fiercer. Battles were won and lost on both sides. Many English and Americans lost their lives. Eight
years of fighting were hard on both sides. It was particularly hard on the British. This was a strange land to them.
The commanders of the army were thousands of miles from the battle. The cost of the war was draining the
treasury.
Sir William Howe resigned as commander of the British troops in the colonies. He was tired of the criticism he
was receiving for his leadership. General Henry Clinton replaced him. Clinton believed he would be able to inflict
a final defeat on the colonists by moving his troops south. He thought he would find more colonists loyal to the
British cause in the southern colonies. If he were to take control of the southern colonies, he would be able to crush
the entire rebellion. He appointed Lord Charles Cornwallis to lead his troops in the southern colonies. He remained
in New York with a small force and put the rest of the British soldiers aboard ships sailing to Georgia.
Lord Cornwallis and his troops first took over Savannah, Georgia. He declared all of Georgia to be in British
hands. They then headed to Camden, South Carolina. It was a fierce battle, but the British were victorious.
Believing that the war was finally going in their favor, the British headed for Virginia. They made camp in
Yorktown. Yorktown was on the York River near the very important Chesapeake Bay. They sent word to General
Clinton, who promised to send more troops by ship to meet them there.
While Cornwallis was fighting his way north, General George Washington was making plans with his French
allies. General Rochambeau and Washington discussed the possibility of attacking Yorktown. They decided that
that would not be a wise move at the time. During their discussions they got word from General Lafayette that
made their decision easier. Lafayette told them that another French officer, Admiral de Grasse, was sailing from
the West Indies to Chesapeake Bay with a fleet of twenty-eight ships. A plan to stop the British in their tracks was
soon created.
Admiral de Grasse was told to take his fleet and position them in Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the York River.
From this point they would be able to keep new British troops from joining Cornwallis. It would also keep
Cornwallis from leaving the area by ship. In the meantime, Washington, Rochambeau, and a combined French and
American force of over 14,000 men marched toward Yorktown. When they reached their destination, they fanned
out and formed a semi-circle around Yorktown. They were joined by 3,000 of de Grasse's men. On October 14,
1781, the British troops awoke to the sight of over 17,000 forces surrounding them. Cornwallis tried everything he
could think of to get out of this situation. He even sent men infected with smallpox from his camp into the lines of
colonial soldiers. He hoped that they would infect the soldiers with the deadly disease and give him a chance. He
tried to escape by taking his soldiers across the York River in boats. A storm put a stop to this attempt.
On October 17, Cornwallis had had enough. He sent a drummer boy and a soldier with a white flag to Washington
Name: edHelper
offering to surrender. On October 19, the official papers of surrender were signed. The colonial soldiers and the
French soldiers stood in lines facing each other as the defeated British soldiers solemnly walked between the lines.
They deposited their weapons in a pile as a colonial band played an old British tune called, "The World Turned
Upside Down." To the British, the world had turned upside down. Who would have ever believed that a group of
ragged, untrained farmers would be able, after eight long years of war, to defeat the most powerful army in the
world?
After much negotiation among the British, Americans, and the French, the formal Treaty of Paris was signed on
September 3, 1783. The war was officially over. The Americans had forged a new country with their blood and
sweat.The Final Battle - Yorktown 1781

According to Porter, how have we tended to see the solutions to the many social problems in our society? What is the "awkward reality" of the way we have seen these solutions?

Answers

Explanation:

For Porter, humanity has always faced many social problems that have always been solved through the creation of NGOs and philanthropy, but Porter believes that social problems continue to exist on a large scale due to the lack of scalable resources to deal with such problems, which afflict the world. For him, there are not enough resources to deal with social problems in a scalable way, he says that the resources are in the economy, and are generated by companies.

Therefore, he believes that environmental responsibility is also not liable to solve social problems on a large scale, but rather a vision that companies must exist to combat social problems and make a profit in solving them, such as an energy company wind power, companies with technology to reduce environmental deforestation, etc.

Explanation:

In the 1400s, European empires competed with one another in order to be the supreme power in the world. In order to achieve that, most of them realize that they need to increase their economic power.

This prompted many empires to invest in explorations in order to seek potential slave labors and cheap resources from smaller /weaker countries. They planned to accumulate the resources and sell it in higher price in order to improve their nations' wealth. These explorations marked the beginning of the Age of Discovery.

Answers

This question is missing the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

As part of a study in auditory perception, a group of students was made to listen to a low-volume music track. When they first put on their headphones, they almost couldn’t hear anything. But as they became more attentive, the sound gradually became clearer. This is an example of _________.

a. retinal disparity

b. pitch increase

c. sensitization

d. subliminal stimulation

Answer:

This is an example of C. sensitization.

Explanation:

According to the given scenario, the sound was not altered. Its volume, its pitch - everything remained the same. There was, however, an alteration in people's perception of the sound, and that is due to a process known as sensitization. Sensitization happens when a certain stimulus becomes more effective because of repetition or continuation. That is, because people kept on listening to the sound, even though it was low, they were able to hear it after a while.

Answer:

The advancements that do not challenge the information in the bible.

Explanation:

Throughout history, Catholic church generally wouldn't take the opposing position for scientific/technological development as long as it did not stray away from their bible.

For example, during the industrial revolution, a lot of inventions that can accelerate the production process was created. The catholic church never known to take a stance to prevent the industrial revolution from happening.

One of example where the Catholic Church took a stance against the scientific advancement would be when Galileo popularized a theory that The Sun is the center of Universe.  This was opposed by the Catholic Churches who believed that Earth was created by God as the center of universe.

What was Vietnamization plan?

By handing over all military duties to South Vietnam, the Vietnamization policy sought to lessen American involvement in the Vietnam War. Deep cracks have appeared in American society as a result of the increasingly unpopular war.

President Nixon believed that his Vietnamization strategy, which included strengthening South Vietnam's armed forces and removing American troops, would enable the South Vietnamese to defend themselves in the event of a North Vietnamese takeover.

Allow the United States to withdraw from Vietnam with its honor intact. Nonetheless, the Vietnamization process had serious flaws from the start.

Nixon looked for a means to withdraw US combat forces from South Vietnam without giving the impression that he was handing the country over to the communists in the face of intense public pressure and large Vietnam War demonstrations.
