Submit your Environment essay below.
the article:
The people of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, and China were dependent on the environment for the success of their civilizations. To grow food, the people of these civilizations needed fertile land. They needed water from rivers to irrigate their fields.

Any changes in the environment could have negative effects on the communities of early civilizations. For this project, you will read about how changes in the environment affected the people of early civilizations. You will then be asked to think about how the environment affects us today.

OBJECTIVES
Think about how changes in our environment would affect us in today's world.
Write a short essay.
VOCABULARY
environment all of the factors influencing plant and animal life such as climate, temperature, light, and food
Huang He Valley an area of land that is located along the Huang He River in north-central China
Indus Valley an area of land that is located along the Indus River in present-day Pakistan and India
Mesopotamia an area of land that is located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in the Middle East
Nile Valley an area of land that is located along the Nile River in present-day Egypt
Vocab Arcade
The first civilizations developed in Mesopotamia, the Nile Valley, the Indus Valley, and the Huang He Valley. These were river valleys that were suitable for farming. The climate was ideal. The soil was rich in nutrients. The river water could be channeled and used to irrigate crop fields.

For these reasons, river valleys were great environments for the formation of the first civilizations. But changes in the environment could challenge the stability of early civilizations.

For example, natural disasters like earthquakes or volcanic eruptions could destroy entire cities. Floods could wipe out crop lands and houses. Droughts could kill crops and cause famines.

Changes in the environment could also affect the economies of early civilizations. Poor crop yields did not leave the people of early civilizations with enough food to trade for other goods. In this way, the economies of early civilizations could decline during these difficult times.

The people of early civilizations had to come up with ways to deal with these environmental challenges. In response to floods, they dug ditches. After a natural disaster, they organized themselves to rebuild cities and homes.

LET'S REVIEW!
You have learned that the environment played a role in the overall development of early civilizations and that changes in the environment could have negative effects on those communities and civilizations.

Changes in the environment continue to pose challenges to people today. Like the people of early civilizations, there is still a need to work together to create solutions to help deal with these challenges. As you follow the directions for this project, draw upon the information on this page and what you have learned in this course. How can you apply the knowledge you have gained?

Directions
Read the following questions and respond in a 200-word essay. You need to use information learned in this course as examples to support your answers.

What would happen if a lengthy, severe drought were to affect your community?
What impact would it have on individual lives?
What impact would it have on the economy?

Um many people would die from the drought. It would have an impact on idividuals since there wont be enough water for everyone and it would impact the economy in a way that it would go down.

Answer:

Here ya go :) hope it helps a bit

Explanation:

The environment is a large factor in the ways we live, or even if we live at all. If the environment around us isn't suitable we wouldn't be able to sustain ourselves. Humans are fragile beings that need certain conditions to thrive, when these conditions aren't met things such as famines occur. Changes in our environment present many challenges, we would have to adjust to it all. We would have to have different housing systems such as roofs being built differently, the use of different materials, the placement of the houses, even the shape of houses would differ. Our farming system would also have to change, things such as the soil, climate, amount of water, etc. will change what crops we can grow and when. Our irrigation systems may have to be rebuilt and redone to fit our new farms. Due to the change in our climate, we would have to figure out what crops are most suitable for growing on our farms. For example, we may be able to grow corn but we cannot grow squash, we might be able to grow strawberries but not citrus plants, and so on. Even simple day-to-day things would have to change, such as our clothing. As of now, say we wear t-shirts and shorts but if the environment around us were to change we might have to wear parkas and snow pants.  The environment is a large factor in the ways we live, or even if we live at all. Why is the Economy and the US falling apart? Is it money, greed, pollution, racism, or etc. Tell me your answer and why? (This is not for a test I just want to hear people who might not speak to the public for once) 28 points.

Answers

I think that it is all of the above. Racism is planted so deeply into the country that it affects the economy. Racism lives because people don’t want to accept the truth that discrimination happens. There are examples of homes and land being taken away from African Americans and other people of color by individuals and government. Also, pollution impacts it because it has diverse and far-reaching effects on the U.S. economy, impacting tourism, property values, commercial fishing, recreational businesses and many other sectors that depend on clean water. As for greed, sometimes it encourages governments to spend more and tax less, which means more debt. I honestly think that the US just needs to somehow restart completely, which won't happen because of the size and population and impact of the US. But, if everything started over and all discrimination was gone, and everyone got along well and we had good policies, that would be my dream. However, in the meantime, I think we just need to establish new policies that benefit the economy and all minorities. Slowly, we could start to change the way the US works and change it for the better.

Wow that kinda felt good just letting that out... A lot of people will disagree with me but yeah now its out there at least!

How presidential campaigns are publicly funded?
The advantages and disadvantages of federal financing?

Answers

Answer:

Public funding are funds or resources provided by the State/Government for political parties and/or candidates. Provisions often state that political parties and candidates should have an equitable access to public funds. Oftentimes, the rules regarding public funding are not clearly stated in law, and even if they are, there is often a (real or perceived) misuse of public resources by the incumbent party or candidate. The legal framework can be drafted in a way as to encourage the founding and sustainability of a multi-party system.  Ongoing oversight from a responsible government body combined with public (civil society) oversight through CSO watchdog capacity also can improve the monitoring and full disclosure of funding across party lines and in lines and consistent with the intent of full disclosure and fairness in campaign financing

Explain the basics of the Slaughterhouse Cases...what was at issue? What did the court decide? how do they fit into the early discussion of corporate rights/responsibilities versus those of people and workers? Explain.

Answers

“The Slaughterhouse Cases, resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1873, ruled that a citizen's "privileges and immunities," as protected by the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment against the states, were limited to those spelled out in the Constitution and did not include many rights given by the individual states.”
“The issue was that they argued the monopoly created involuntary servitude in violation of the Thirteenth Amendment, and abridged privileges or immunities, denied equal protection of the laws, and deprived them of liberty and property without due process of law in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment.”
“The court held that the monopoly violated neither the Thirteenth or Fourteenth Amendments, reasoning that these amendments were passed with the narrow intent to grant full equality to former slaves. Thus, to the Court, the Fourteenth Amendment only banned the states from depriving blacks of equal rights; it did not guarantee that all citizens, regardless of race, should receive equal economic privileges by the state.” So basically “The Slaughterhouse Cases, resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1873, ruled that a citizen's "privileges and immunities," as protected by the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment against the states, were limited to those spelled out in the Constitution and did not include many rights given by the individual states.”
